St. Briavels Area
The Gallery is located on East Street, about 100 yards from the imposing 12th Century St. Briavels Castle, (now a Youth Hostel), St.Mary the Virgin Church and The George Inn.
St. Briavels is the gateway to the Royal Forest of Dean with a wealth of tourist attractions and walks within the nearby forest and just two miles from Puzzlewood and Clearwell Caves where many of the BBC Merlin and Dr. Who episodes were filmed and more recently, the new film "Jack the Giantkiller". There's a wealth of history in the village, famous for iron ore smelting and the making of arrow heads and quarrels.
Visitors to the gallery should be aware that sometimes tuition may be in progress - however you are still free to browse. If you are travelling a long distance, please ring beforehand to check that the gallery is open since Mariana may be temporarily teaching or painting away from site - Tel: 01594 530484
