The Mariana-Art Gallery is situated in the historic village of St. Briavels - about 9 miles from Monmouth and Chepstow. At the Gallery + Studio you can browse a vast selection of painting styles in Watercolour, Oils and Acrylics. Mariana's popular and varied subject range covers everything from local scenes, flowers, animals, cross-grids and abstracts to conceptual pieces.
The Mariana-Art Gallery offers a range of locally made ceramics, photographs, binoculars, greetings cards, prints and gifts as well as Mariana's original paintings. There's hand-made silver jewellery by new designer, Ann Skehel of WyeMade.com and by Debbie Aldecoa, delightful hand-painted wellington boots, trinket boxes and bottle stoppers by Devon artist, Helen Smith of Merryfield Pottery; and unusual macro-crystallised glaze pottery pieces by Forest of Dean artist, Avril Farley.
Liven up your home with an original painting, commission a bespoke piece of art, or select from a range of Limited Edition Frudes™ and prints. Why not drop in for a chat with the artist at her gallery + studio and see the range of styles and prices available.
St. Briavels Area
The Gallery is located on East Street, about 100 yards from the imposing 12th Century St. Briavels Castle, (now a Youth Hostel), St.Mary the Virgin Church and The George Inn.
St. Briavels is the gateway to the Royal Forest of Dean with a wealth of tourist attractions close to Puzzlewood and Clearwell Caves where filming for the new Star Wars movie, BBC Merlin and Dr. Who episodes were made. There's a wealth of history in the village, famous for iron ore smelting and the making of arrow heads and quarrels. 2015 sees the 800 year anniversary of Magna Carta so look for events at St. Briavels Castle celebrating this event.
Visitors to the gallery should be aware that sometimes tuition may be in progress - however you are still free to browse. If you are travelling a long distance, please ring beforehand to check that the gallery is open since Mariana may be temporarily teaching or painting away from site - Tel: 01594 530484
